The Rose and Crown, Wivenhoe

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

The Rose and Crown Pub is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all guests, regardless of physical, sensory, or cognitive ability. We continually review and adapt our facilities and services to ensure equal access and comfort for everyone.

  • Mobility Access: Main entrances, bar, and seating areas are wheelchair accessible. Staff are always available to assist where needed.
  • Accessible Toilets: We provide accessible toilet facilities; please ask a member of staff for assistance if needed.
  • Seating & Layout: Our team will make reasonable adjustments to seating and table arrangements to accommodate individual needs.
  • Communication Support: If you require written menus, large print, or assistance with ordering, please speak to a staff member—we’re happy to help.
  • Sensory Consideration: We understand sensory needs vary; if you need a quieter space or support with lighting/sound, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

2. Service Dogs / Assistance Animals

We proudly welcome service dogs and assistance animals trained to support individuals with disabilities. This includes guide dogs, hearing dogs, mobility assistance dogs, and mental health support animals.

  • Access Rights: Service dogs may accompany guests throughout all public areas of the pub, including the bar, garden, and dining spaces.
  • Pet-Friendly Zones: While pets are welcome in designated areas, assistance dogs are exempt from pet policies under the Equality Act 2010.
  • Staff Awareness: All team members are trained to understand service dog etiquette and will not distract or interfere with working animals.
  • Comfort Provisions: Water bowls and quiet spaces are available on request for the comfort of assistance animals.
